DAY 2: TUESDAY, 20TH JANUARY, 2026

THE WONDERS OF GRATITUDE TO GOD

Luke 17:11-19, 2 Samuel 6:12-23, Psalm 30:1-4

The word 'gratitude' can be defined as the quality of being thankful, readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. Showing gratitude for an act of kindness received opens more doors, channels blessings and attracts more favors. In the Scripture Luke 17:11-19, Jesus healed ten men suffering from dreadful skin diseases, but only one came back to show gratitude, and he made his healing permanent. 

Gratitude, obviously, is an uncommon type of prayer which only those that recognise the importance reap its fruits. It has supernatural magnetic force for opening closed doors, enhancing and strengthening relationships and attracting numerous other favours. In 2 Samuel 6:12-23, when the people of Israel were bringing the covenant box to Jerusalem from the house of Obed Edom, King David danced greatly to honour the Lord, with all his might, wearing only a linen cloth around his waist. He was thanking God for his mercy, marvellous works, awesome greatness and for making him king over his people, Israel. There were great shouts of joy in the city. 

It is emphatically unthinkable, absurd, and inconceivable that when king David came back to his house, after the dance, his wife Michal the daughter of Saul was disgusted, instead of commending him for dancing in honour of the Lord, she angrily rebuked him for dancing the sacred dance almost naked in honour of the Lord in front of women, and the Lord sealed her womb, as she had no child. After that great celebration and appreciation to God, the Lord manifestly and tremendously blessed King David and his descendants forever. He made him one of the greatest kings who ever lived on earth. Learn to be appreciative; thank and show gratitude to God for his goodness towards you. Before the end of this programme, the Lord will honour you. He will open every door closed against you. Those who had forgotten you will remember you. The Lord will restore everything you had lost and grant you uncommon blessings, recognition, breakthrough and financial empowerment, in the name of Jesus. It is done.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Thank God for the gift of life. 

2. Thank God for giving you the opportunity to be a participant in this programme. 

3. Lord, I pray for your divine judgement against my unrepentant enemies who are working assiduously to bring me down, in the name of Jesus.

4. Thank God for the life, protection and uncommon anointing he bestowed upon our Spiritual Director, Evang. Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi, and Zion Prayer Movement Outreach.
